I'm done!

ok I'm done with all my school clothes shopping for Shyanne anyways.... Now I just have to find a pair of Nikes for me.... Enjoy her fashion show.

It's Hot out here!

Yes yesterday we hit a record high in DFW: 107. and believe me it felt like it. We spent the rest of the afternoon floating in the pool. You couldn't stand to be outside without being in the water. Even the water was starting to get warm like a bath.

4 days until the opening ceremony of the Olypmics...... I can't wait. Go USA!

Yesterday's sermon was the first part of a series on Parenting 101. It was pretty good and hit home on several points. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series in hope that I will learn somethings to make me a better parent.

This is my last week off.

Summer is over

Well I can't believe that I'm about to say this but my summer is over. I have one more week off. Lightning Dancers start back on Aug. 11 which means I'm back to school everyday instead of 2 days a week for 2 hours like I've been doing. Teacher in-service starts on Aug. 18th and the first day of my 08-09 year starts on Aug. 25th. Ok, where did the summer go? Is it because I'm getting older and time goes by faster? I'm looking forward to getting back to school, being with my students and having a regular routine every day. This is going to be a great school year.
I still can't believe that Shyanne is going to be a 2nd grader. She is growing up so fast. We are going shopping for school clothes next week so I'll post pictures of her fashion show.

Shyanne and I spent last Saturday night watching the Hannah Montana Best of Both Worlds concert in 3D. The was an experience. It was just like the real concert except I was on my couch and had on these goffy glasses. Shyanne loved it of course.

My laptop crashed after 5 years. Luckily Best Buy had the Dell I wanted on sale. But going from XP to Vista is a little scary. This new computer is awesome.

We went to Havest Baptist Church on Sunday as a family. We got Shyanne in a Sunday school class and Jeff and I went to a couples class. We spent the rest of the day at Jim and Kelly's watching the NASCAR race floating in their pool. Jim connected their 35" flat screen outside and we all had a great and relaxing time in 104 degree weather.

Now the best part of this post is that Shyanne woke up this morning with her very first pimple. It is on the side of her nose and so cute. She thinks it hurts and probably does but I'm laughing at age 7 (almost) she is asking for my zit medicine..... she is growing up!

Today Shyanne and I are having lunch with a high school friend of mine (20 years later). Melanie, her husband and 3 kids live right here in Southlake. We are going to meet at Cafe Express in Southlake Town Center. I can't wait to catch up with her or at least try over lunch. It still amazes me how much we have all grown in the past 20 years.

sea world was so much fun. When the dolphins flipped they looked like they were fake dolphins. mommy got me a shamu and t-shirt. It was so hot there that I almost fainted. Our hotel room was weird because the bathroom was leaning. Isn't that weird....

I can't wait for HSM3, the senior year. It looks great. It comes to the movies on Oct. 24th. Sharpe' looks different.

For my birthday I want Rock Band for Wii.

I can win alot of things like a Hannah Montana electric guitar, a signed red DS, an LG phone. I just filled out several entry forms from my Tiger Beat magazine. I hope I win.

Sea World

all Shyanne wanted for her birthday was a trip to Sea World. So she got it. We flew down on the first flight to San Antonio and were there when the park opened. We spent the entire day until closing enjoying all there was in Sea World.

My 4th was a Blast - literally

So the 4th of July 2008. All I can say is ouch.

Five families all got together and went to Brain and Melissa's for dinner and fireworks. Since we live in the county everyone in my neighborhood does fireworks. It is getting to the point to see who will outdo the next person. So we are sitting around the drive way having a great time and about an hour into it I get a surprise. I was leaning down out of my lawn chair to get something when all of the sudden I see the bright flash. and then felt it bummmmmm. Yes a firecracker went the wrong way landed in my chair and went off. I thought I was on fire and started running towards the grass screaming. However my chair was on fire. So my firecracker evening was pretty much over. My butt feels like a fire cracker exploded on it. Yes that means it hurts and this ice I'm sitting on feels pretty good...... I'm laughing now but wasn't then.

So Happy Birthday America. I had a blast!

Home Sweet Home

Shyanne was so happy to see mommy when I got back home.

Well another year of drill team has gone by again and this one my friends was the best. My girls grew both as dancers and as a team. We are on our way to success! Galveston or Bust baby.
Here I am with one of my former students that is now directing in Plano. I'm so proud of Stefani and what she has accomplished. She is a beautiful woman outside and in.

My little singer

Last night for my birthday Shyanne gave me a concert. She sang songs from Disney's Camp Rock. I had the joy of sitting through songs. I know you all wish you could have been there too.

Just playing around

today was the last day of junior dance camp with my mommy's Lightning Dancers. But most important is today is mommy's birthday! Th Lightning Dancers gave mommy cake/ice cream, a singing card, scented candle and a silver necklace with 220 forever on it. Mommy says that I can't tell you what 220 means. It is a secret..... I love my mommy very much. She bought me a new bathing suit that has Hannah Montana on it and it is purple. Mommy says the bottoms are alittle big so I have to be careful. Bye for now!

Ahhhhh ha moment

Ok 20 years ago I graduated from high school and I really haven't kept up with too many people. But thanks to 2 great websites I'm able to communicate with former classmates. It is still hard to accept that it has been 20 years but I'm so proud to have graduated from Mayde Creek HS in 1988 as the First Graduating Class. Look what I've found.....

Well it is a Monday......
I waited for the cable guy from their 12 -4 time frame and was actually lucky they showed up at 1:10 pm. But the problem wasn't with direct tv, it was with the tv setting. who knew....But he adjusted the satellite dish while he was here.
I also spent a lot time with Whirlpool on the phone trying to figure out the problem with the ice maker..... well it is broken and needs to be replaced along with the PC/optical board. I never knew how important the ice maker was in my life.

However the great part of ending this day is The Bachlorette. It is on in 15 minutes. I have really enjoyed it this season, not sure why...... I was so mad when Brad dumped her. what a jerk!

Shyanne is really missing James, she keeps asking when they are coming home. Poor thing, her buddy isn't home to play with.

Well off to do my 20 minute yoga workout before my show. :)
